Bright and beautiful

by Colleen McClure Designs

The clients of this home were looking to update and integrate the traditional kitchen that was behind walls and separated from the rest of the main living floor. it felt like the 50’s when the wife cooked behind doors with very little room to socialize or have informal eating.

The wall was removed to include an open peninsula / island concept with seating. This allowed conversation and gatherings with a natural flow from the dining room and entertaining in the living room. With this new layout, the door was moved, one was closed off and a new closet was designed to increase pantry storage. A larger kitchen window was also added to enhance the natural beauty of their large garden and greenery outside.
